How I became an Integrative and Functional Medicine doctor
My path to becoming an Integrative and Functional Medicine doctor started after I completed my residency in Internal Medicine. I wanted to learn more about how I could help my patients obtain a better level of health through more natural but evidence-based approaches to care.

I completed a Faculty Scholars Program at the University of Michigan in Integrative Medicine and learned about how alternative and more natural therapies could be combined with traditional medicine. After gaining this knowledge I started to change the way that I approached certain aspects of my health and lifestyle. I started to focus more on nutrition, exercise, the mind body connection and how certain things in our environment affect our health.

I then went on to complete a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona and also became board certified in Integrative Medicine. I am also certified in Functional Medicine and have taken courses through the American Academy for Anti Aging and the Institute of Functional Medicine.
